Let's Be Like the Tenacious Little Weed

Have you ever noticed the tenacity of weeds? We can pull them out by the roots or spray them with Round-up, but no matter what we do, you turn around and BANG! there they are again.

I remember when I drove my RV out west and because I had some kind of serious and mysterious engine malfunction, the vehicle traveled no faster than 20 mph. Seriously, no lie. It was finally discovered that there was a kink in the fuel line and the engine was not receiving the proper amount of fuel...something like that... Huge bummer. It took $1000's and nearly that many visits to mechanic shops for one of those geniuses to get it fixed.

Anyway, back to the point. So I'm crawling laboriously up and down mountains in Colorado, and going so slowly I have plenty of time to gaze out the side window. And there, peeking out of cracks on a rock wall, are tiny little flowers. So cute. And so amazing. Regardless of the weather conditions or lack of soil, life continues to push forward, out of the hidden recesses of rock.

Here in Florida, every season is growing season for something. Those place that have been sprayed with a herbicide like Round-up, (and don't get me started on THAT!), even those spots will eventually sprout new life again, forcefully pushing upward to gather in life-giving light.

So here's the thought for the day: why can't WE try that hard to grow, to bloom, to decorate the rock hard surfaces of our lives.

If a blasted WEED can do it, why can't we???
