The End of an Era
A few years ago I was introduced to fusing glass. I quickly fell in love with the art and have made many items to give as gifts. Mostly, I scoured my neighbors bins for bottles, particularly wine bottles. Recycling this glass into art pieces has been very satisfying. Unfortunately for me, my use of a kiln came to an abrupt end. Before the kiln was returned to its rightful owner, I fired a bunch of glass and since I've been back from my abbreviated walk, I have made some pieces to sell in my church's bookstore. Some of the more precious bottles and glass I have kept for myself. I have some large pieces I want to create when I move back into my house. (I currently live in the studio apartment in the back of the property and rent out the house itself.)
Just thought I would share. Yet another morsel from the colorful and full life of Linda. Below is a piece I made today. Because the glass is clear it is very difficult to see the tiny details but I'm very happy with it. It will not be going to the bookstore to sell...at least I don't think so.

More colorful glass would photograph much better but in person it is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE it. |
