Marvelous Monday
Most people I know do not love Mondays. I get that. After a lovely and relaxing weekend, Mondays are often equated with heading back to hell. I'm fortunate. I get to work on that which I love:reading, researching, writing and prepping for getting back on the road.
Today I was performing my physical therapy exercises prior to walking. I was laying on the floor of my screen room doing my thing when Jaxs trotted in and deposited a treasure right on my face: a worm! Seriously? Do I look to her like a bird? I guess it was a gift but...ick!
I accidentally tore it a tiny bit in the wild aftermath of gift receiving but after I got over the grossness, I dropped the tiny treasure into a large potted plant. As I was getting dressed to go for my walk, Jax began barking crazily. I peeked out the window and it appeared she was barking at the neighbor. So I stepped out to my screen porch again and find that she is barking like a maniac at a snake. So yay, we've stepped up the scale from worm to snake. Since I do not have a problem with snakes (unless dropped on my face while exercising), I scooted this very beneficial black racer out the door with a broom handle. I think I heard her hiss a thank-you.
I live very near the West Orange Trail, an approx. 34 mile long trail. Hundreds of people, bike, run, walk, skate on this trail every week. I spend a lot of time on it each day.
I pass many people doing their fitness thing. They are not usually too interested in chatting with me, understandably. But today I met Joe who was riding his kid's bike to go pick up his car in the shop. He said, "I know this looks stupid, but I'd rather be riding this than walking like you!" We laughed about it and both agreed that having a sense of humor made getting through life so much easier. He let me take his pic and I wished him a happy Monday and many blessings.
May you be blessed this marvelous Monday. Take a sense of humor with you and laugh, laugh, laugh!
