Fabulous Florida
I have lived in Florida for 26 years. That's a very long time. It took me quite a while to get adjusted to the semi-tropics of this state. I am from the NE so it was difficult to never see the leaves change or have snow at Christmas. But this lovely state has much to offer. I thought I'd share some of the beauty that I experience everyday.
We don't get a lot of fog, but it certainly is beautiful when we do. This pier is at the end of my street.
A serene sunset, also at the end of my street.
A butterfly in my yard
A heron on the beach
A crafty and shy little crab
Mama duck with her ducklings
I love how the flowers are reflected in the water
I snapped this at take-off. A great grey heron
Tababoula trees in bloom
Sandhill cranes
A small heron, I don't know what kind
An ahinga, a FL water bird
The red water is from a small stream flowing into the St. John's River. The color is quite red here and is from tannin, a by-product of rotting leaves, branches from oaks and cypress. Usually it is brown in color. But I was mesmerized by the red.
